If you study a room that you find interesting, the furniture in it generally is an assortment of things that basically feel and look “friendly” together. While there are some matching pieces, there will also be layers of subtle differences. Good design always include ways to spice up the look with punctuation of color, pattern, style and fabric type. That’s why our accent chairs offer variety and come in fabric, leather and slipcovers. Our look can be clean contemporary or a relaxed urban cottage. From shabby chic to snappy urban hip to Victorian, Club Furniture’s chairs span a wide variety of styles. Featured are fully upholstered designs to chairs with either wood or metal frames; Mid-Century to classic Modern chrome frames. Take a look at our detailed tailoring: Button tufting, nail head and thin welts add sophistication.
We offer a good range of sizes that will fit into any furniture arrangement and in any size room. Sometimes an accent chair catches your eye that is enticing, but far too large for your furniture layout. If you live in more compact space, take special note of our more petite models. For example, Gabrielle is an elegant armless slipper chair perfect for a cramped living room at only 26” wide. She comes with the perfect kidney-shaped back pillow and exudes sophistication. At only 31” wide, Sandra is an exceptionally versatile accent piece offers a 360 degree swivel chair with contemporary style. This is a perfect choice to sit near a fireplace or by a window. If you are choosing between an outdoor view and your TV as a focal point or between your fireplace and the TV, a swivel chair is a perfect selection for ultimate flexibility. Belinda is a true wingback accent that is a mere 27” wide.
Not only can you vary style, you can create counterpoint in your ensemble by choosing an accent fabric. An exceptional range of textiles are available and we offer free samples so that you can make sure your combination of colors is perfect. For example, select from cotton twills and canvas, rayon/ polyester cobble cloth, polyester/acrylic/nylon cut velvet, linen/cotton blends for a relaxed look. Some slipcovers are conveniently machine washable. All our Tier 3 "Trending" fabrics offer a variety of unique fabric types including Crypton® stain resistant fabrics. All of these fabrics are machine washable (please call for washing instructions). An accent chair does not have to be one that you are afraid to use and can be covered in either a contrasting fabric to the main pieces in your room or leather. We offer a broad assortment of top grain leathers that are one of the easiest coverings to maintain. Generally leather should be regularly wiped with a clean, dry cloth and occasionally treated with a leather conditioner. Spills can be immediately wiped with a clean, dry cloth.
Be assured that our chairs are made with the same care as all of our furniture pieces: We use solid hardwood frames and a sinuous spring system of springs for support under our cushions. Standard seat cushions are composed of a core of 1.9 density DR foam with a dacron wrap. Many of these accent chairs are available with an upgrade to a plush down seat cushion. A polyurethane core is surrounded with a duvet wrap containing a plush combination of goose down, feathers, and poly ticking. Natural down will create a crested look and does require occasional fluffing up to maintain shape, but people love the luxurious feel of down.
Remember that it would be far more interesting, for example, to pair a distinctive traditional chair with basic contemporary sofa. Choose a Humphrey Leather Chippendale Library Chair or the Seton Chippendale Leather Accent Chair to sit nearby a Libby bench style sofa. Conversely, consider the stunning Nils Mid-Century Modern chair as a modern accent in a room with a simple sofa or loveseat. One could couple an Addison Apartment Size Sofa With Reversible Chaise and the Nils chair. Another good complement would be the Margo or the Odette sofa with polished chrome legs. Often designers like to use different pieces opposite a sofa or in conjunction with two matching sofas to form a conversation area. Another way to use two different chairs could be in front of a window with a table between. The coziest setting is in front of an inviting fireplace; chairs with matching ottomans and a tiny side table for a glass of wine or cup of hot tea.
