A decluttered bedroom is a decluttered mind. Remove unnecessary items from shelves, put keepsakes away in a designated keepsake box. Do not let the bedroom become the dump for mail or laundry. Fold the laundry and put it away as soon as it is out of the dryer. Get rid of clothes that are no longer needed or worn out to donation places or the garbage. Use ottomans that double as storage for extra linens and pillows.
- Bedrooms are for resting, not storage. Laundry, paper work and related items need to be removed.
- Keeping things in their proper places not only enhances the room, but reduces clutter.
- Items used for storage such as dressers or nightstands need not match nor be expensive.
“Nightstands with drawers are probably the only realistic way to keep your books, glasses, and hand lotion tucked away.”
